Over to 2.5 million customers were without power Monday morning across Texas and Louisiana due to a major winter storm. There are rolling power blackouts happening across the region after record-breaking energy use strained utilities beyond capacity because of the winter weather event. This means households, traffic lights, telecommunication sites, data centers, and other infrastructure are suffering from significant power outages. The rolling blackouts will repeat, all the way through Tuesday, according to officials.
